RTA’s Seniors Ride Free Program

Adults age 65 or over living in the RTA service region are eligible for FREE transit on fixed routes operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Metra and Pace. To take advantage of the free transit, you must have a senior reduced-fare card. To obtain this reduced-fare card, go to the West Deerfield Township Office at 601 Deerfield Road (1 block east of Waukegan Road) with a driver’s license or a government issued identification card that verifies your age and $2.00 for a photo.

Going Places

Going Places is a transportation service for West Deerfield Township residents who have mobility challenges that may prevent or restrict their ability to meet their health care needs.
Passengers must pre-register with the Township Transportation Department. Due to restrictions, minors and non-registered passengers are not allowed to ride. Riders must also complete a form, signed by a physician, indicating the rider is stable and able to ride in a sitting position. Trained drivers will pick up riders and deliver them to appointments at Condell, Glenbrook, Highland Park, Lake Forest and North Chicago’s V.A. Hospital. Other locations must be within a five mile radius of the Township. A modified mini-van equipped with a ramp will accommodate up
to two wheelchairs and three additional riders. Trips of less than five miles are $3 and those over five miles are $5, round trip. One registered caregiver or companion is allowed to ride with the patient at no additional charge. For more information, please call

Notaries Public

Notary Public services are now available at the PTSC. Please contact Ginny or Joan.

Assistive Listening Devices

We are very fortunate to have an assisted-hearing system at the PTSC. The system is located in Members Room A & B and is available to our members so that programs can be more easily enjoyed. Please see Ginny or Joan if you would like to use this device.

Cell Phone Collection

In the United States alone, an estimated 500 million cell phones have been retired. The PTSC is launching a program that will not only be a fund raiser for our programs, but will help the environment by keeping these phones out of landfills. Please drop off your old and unused cell phones at the center. When we accumulate 50 phones, we will send them to a recycler and receive a check. What a great way to help our senior center and our environment!
